OPENING DECEMBER 1st
Experience the waterfall from all angles! Start by climbing up our Level 1 cable climb, then get your wetsuits on and rappel back down! You will be supported by an experienced guide the entire time and you will learn climbing and abseil skills on this trip.
No previous abseiling or climbing experience is required, but good fitness is. Bring your sense of adventure and get ready for some fun!
What to know
Round trip from Wanaka around 5 hours
Suitable for adventurous, fit beginners. Must be able to walk on uneven terrain, move through steep exposed cliffs and be active for up to 5 hours
No climbing/canyoning experience is required

To bring on the day
Sturdy shoes you are prepared to get wet - walking/running shoes or grippy sneakers
NO sandals, jandals, “five-finger” shoes or wetsuit booties
For the climb, wear light clothing (polyester and wool are best) such as shorts and a t-shirt and a thin polypro or merino thermal if conditions are colder
NO cotton, this will make you colder when wet
Swimming togs to wear under your wetsuit
If you require medication during the activities please bring sufficient supplies, your guide can keep it safe and dry for you
Small backpack with a water bottle
Wetsuit if you have your own, or think our available sizing will not be suitable
Sunglasses and sunblock
Extra snacks if you are feeling hungry
Spare shoes, towel and some warm clothes for afterwards

Minimum weight is 50kgs - this is determined by our safety-equipment and WorkSafe regulations which we are bound by
Maximum weight 110kg - contact us for clarification

Minimum height is 120cm
Groups of up to 6 on our daily tours. For bookings of more than 6 please contact us directly
The maximum waist measurements for our harnesses are 100cm, and upper thigh are 70cm
Our wetsuit sizes range from XS-XL or you can bring your own
Please note this trip must reach a minimum number of 2 to run

You have given at least 24hrs notice to cancel
We cancel due to the weather, and you cannot reschedule
We cancel due to minimum numbers are not being reached

Lord of the Rungs Lower
Duration: 2-3 hours (approx.)
Climb alongside a waterfall on our Lower Climb. In just a few hours, you will learn all you need to know to safely ascend steel rungs and cross 4 suspension bridges as you make your way up the lower section of the waterfall.

Lord of the Rungs Upper
Duration: 4-5 hours (approx.)
The Upper Climb is our most popular climb, suitable for adventurous, active beginners. Having completed the Lower section, we climb higher, crossing 2 more suspension bridges including a 3-wire bridge before finishing at the base of a spectacular 60m waterfall.

Lord of the Rungs Full
Duration: 6-7 hours (approx.)
This is our advanced climb and an absolutely amazing experience! You will climb the entire waterfall to the very top and finish by helicopter. Along the way, you will cross a 3-wire bridge, go behind a 60m waterfall and climb through an airy overhang. The Full Climb is our most advanced climb, suitable for fit adventure seekers with a great head for heights!
